This palm in itself likes sun, but prefers some peace in terms of light reception. We therefore recommend placing the Cycas in a slightly sheltered spot, where there is enough sun, but not overpowering. 3-5 hours of sunlight a day is best. Therefore, place these houseplants 2-3 feet in front of a west- or east-facing window. For a south-facing window, a distance of 3-4 meters from the window is recommended.
If the Cycas does not get enough light, the leaves will grow extra long, which is out of proportion. These are best pruned, and the plant moved to an area with more light.
In spring and summer the Cycas can go outside, but it is recommended to avoid full sun.
