Aloe ferox (Transkei) 10 Seeds
A form of A. ferox from southeastern South Africa with cream to orange flowers.
A beautiful, large Aloe widely distributed in a wide variety of habitats in South Africa and Lesotho. It grows with a robust, solitary trunk that can reach more than 3 m in height. The large, juicy, bluish-gray with green leaves form an unbranched rosette. The old leaves remain on the trunk, forming a dense skirt under the crown. The beautiful, large, branched and short stalked inflorescence has many red flowers. In cultivation, it is a popular and easy to grow strain that is used for the parched warm temperate to tropical garden in USDA Zones 9-11 that can be drought and some cold with light frosts.
