A beautiful, large Aloe widely distributed in the so-called forest field vegetation South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Mozambique up to 1600 m. It grows a robust, solitary trunk that can reach an amazing 6 m. The large, juicy, gray to bluish-green leaves can reach 1.5 m long and are dotted with short spines above and below. The old leaves form a dense skirt along the trunk under the crown. The large inflorescence has a large number of flowers that can vary from yellow to orange to red. In cultivation, it is an easy to grow strain for the parched, warm temperate to tropical garden that can take drought and some cold with light freezes
