This low sunflower is called ‘Sunspot’ and grows to a height of about 40 centimetres. It looks beautiful in borders and beds, but can also be used in large pots or tubs. The sunflower is an annual plant from the composite family and is originally from North and South America. The plants can be easily grown on any well-drained type of soil. When the sun shines, the (still dense) flowers rotate with the sun, from east to west. At night they return to the east.

Sow from mid-March to mid-April under glass or mid-April to mid-June outside on a seedbed, after 5 to 6 weeks plant outside.
