Leptospermum rupestre 20 seeds

Graceful small flowers, reaching 2 meters in height. The flowers up to 1 cm in size bloom in spring. Plant it in full sun, can possibly be placed in light shade. The plant can be damaged at temperatures below –12C. It becomes dangerous at –20C. In Australia, plants have survived –20C, but this is only possible if the soil does not freeze too deeply. In Australia there is almost always a thick pack of snow and so many plants can handle very low temperatures, because the soil does not freeze too deep. As far as is known, is not susceptible to diseases and pests.

According to the literature, this must be one of the hardest Leptospermums. Practice in our garden shows that the plant is not completely hardy. We had the Leptospermum rupestre ‘Highland Pink’ in the garden, which had a lot of damage every winter and died in the winter of 2011/ 2012. Another (small) Leptospermum rupestre I was able to get through the winter but died in the summer.
