This banana has appeared in the factory trade a few years ago and is often referred to as Musa sikkimensis “Daj Giant”. However, this is not clear M. sikkimensis but probably a hybrid with this species. Seeds are significantly smaller than those of M. sikkimensis. The plant is said to be quite tolerant of cold and grows quite large, but whether it surpasses pure Musa sikkimensis may not be adequately tested.
