Hedychium rubrum 10 seeds (copy)
Red Ginger Lily is a very rare ginger with beautiful bright red flowers. In terms of shape, the flowers resemble those of Butterfly Ginger Lily. It has similarly shaped flowers as Hedychium greenii, but is not closely related. However, the differences are numerous. They have a long spike of red bracts, which alone makes it attractive. It has many more flowers per stem than H. greenii and is also a prolific species. The plant grows up to 1.2 m tall. It is native to NE India from which this seed crop was imported. It does best in a light shade to medium sun area. Hardy in Zone 8 and above.
