Heliconia fragilis 5 seeds

A large Heliconia with long, pendulous, distichous inflorescences with red bracts and yellow flowers followedby yellow fruits. Heliconia fragilis is found on steep slopes, often near streams, in rain forests in southern Colombia from low elevations up to 2000 m. It was described in 1982 and is rarely seen in cultivation, where it is best suited to tropical and some frost-free warm temperate climates.
