Passiflora cinnabarina, better known as the red Passionflower, is an edible-fruited climber native to the coastal strip of southeastern Australia from New South Wales to Victoria.

Red Passionflower develops filament-like structures from the trunks that attach to branches of other plants for support. It is a powerful climber with tri-lobed leaves that are dark green in color and up to 100 mm long.

The red flowers are seen especially in spring to summer. The flowers are about 50 mm in diameter and are followed by ovoid, grayish-green fruits about 30 mm in diameter with grayish pulp and numerous black seeds. The pulp is edible but not particularly tasty.
