This palm comes from the town of Nainital (India). It is not yet clear which species it is, some say it is a Fortunei that has changed due to circumstances others say it is a cross with the Takil. What we do know is that this palm with everything grows larger than the ordinary Fortunei. The trunk becomes thicker and higher and the leaves are larger, yet the leaves are much firmer. The Nainital has a creeping trunk in its younger years, as the palm grows older it grows straight. This palm is clearly stronger than the Fortunei and it also seems to grow faster.
