Beetroot Egyptian Platronde is a flat-rounded beetroot or kroot for early summer cultivation. They are best when they are also harvested early. Red beets grow on all types of soil, but on too dry soils the tubers can develop wart-like spots (scabies). Sowing: From mid-April to mid-June, directly in open ground. Sow on lines or rows by 25 cm. space between the lines. The seeds germinate after about 2 weeks. If the plants approx. 5 cm. high, you need to thin out: you remove just as many plants until the remaining plants at 7 cm. stand distance from each other. They can then grow well. The removed plants can be replanted elsewhere
(also at 7 cm. spacing). Harvest: from July. Store: in a cool room or cellar.

Sow

From mid-April to mid-July, directly in open ground. Sow on lines or rows with 30-35 cm of space between the lines. The seeds germinate after 10-12 days. If the plants are about 5 cm high, you have to thin out: you remove just as many plants until the remaining plants are about 10 cm apart. This gives the plants the opportunity to grow well. The removed plants can be replanted elsewhere with 10 cm space between them.
Harvest: from August to October.
