Pointed cabbage (Brassica oleracea convar. capitata var. alba) is mainly grown for processing into sauerkraut, but also for the fresh market. It is one of the oldest types of cabbage. Traditionally, cultivation mainly takes place in North Holland, because there is no damage by tuberous foot. This is also reflected in the breed names, such as in Langendijker Bewaar and Roem van Enkhuizen.
Cultivation also takes place in Limburg and North Brabant, but a large crop rotation must be applied there.

Pointed cabbage Express is an excellent pointed cabbage for early summer cultivation. It is a fast-growing variety that delivers hefty, pointed coal with little outer leaf. The taste is very attractive. Sowing: For early summer cultivation, sowing is carried out under glass in January-February. Planting in March in open ground. Pointed cabbage grows well on all types of soil, only on heavy (clay) soils can growth sometimes be slow. The planting distance is 50 x 50 cm. After planting in drier periods, water a lot. The soil should always remain moist to prevent growth disorders. On rapidly drying soils there is a chance that the coal will crack. Harvest: from July-mid-August
