The kiwano has a fresh sweet taste and resembles a combination of lemon and banana. The pulp is used in fruit salads and desserts. Sow from March to April in pots at 22-25º C, after about 4 weeks plant in a hobby greenhouse. The plant must be tied up. The female flowers, which are easy to recognize because there is already a fruit principle underneath, should preferably be pollinated by hand.
